First Planning meeting for the Program Implementation Plan (PIP) 2010 -2011 held in Tikamgarh (31st Aug 2010)


The Government of India has decided to accelerate the implementation of NRHM in the 235 difficult districts across the country. NHSRC is the nodal agency to pilot the planning process and set the methodology.

The preliminary meeting for the Program Implementation Plan (PIP) 2010 -2011 was held in Tikamgarh on 31st August 2010.

The team from NHSRC comprised of Dr. Abhilash Malik and Dr. Amit Mishra.
Ms. Richa Som, HMIS Consultant, was invited as a facilitator.

The district participants included Dr. M.K.Dixit, CMHO; Dr. Sunit Jain, Civil Surgeon; Dr. P.K.Jain, MCH Officer; Mr. Sunil Verma, DPM; Mr. Pradeep, District Data Assistant; and Mr. K.L.Jain, Assistant Statistical Officer.

Block level orientation on Bio Medical Waste management completed in Chhatarpur district (9th June 2010)


The block level orientation on Bio Medical Waste (BMW) management was held in 6 blocks of Chhatarpur district on 9th and 10th June 2010. JICA Capacity Development Coordinators – Mr. Kamlesh Mishra, Ms. Rohini and Ms. Dimple Save, facilitated the orientation in 2 blocks each.

The participants included BMO, BPM, DEO, BEE, Staff Nurses, LHVs, ANMs, Pharmacist, Store-keeper, Lab Technician, Dresser, NRC staff, Ward boys, Ayah and sweepers of the facility.

The orientation was done as per the methodology set by the Project, after which requirements of dust bins and other materials required for BMW management was discussed and calculated. The BMOs and BPMs have assured to arrange the materials at the earliest.

Block level orientation on Bio Medical Waste management completed in Sagar district (11th May 2010)


Block level orientation on Bio Medical Waste management was held in the remaining
3 blocks of Sagar district on 11th May 2010. JICA Capacity Development Coordinators,
Mr. Kamlesh Mishra; Ms. Rohini; and Ms. Dimple Save, facilitated the orientation. JICA Block Coordinator, Mr. Arif Anees, was present at CHC Rehli.

The orientation was held at the CHC and the participants included BMO, BPM, Staff Nurses, LHVs, ANMs, Ward boy, Radiographer, lab technicians, store-keeper, dresser, DEO, ayahs and sweepers.

The orientation was done using the methodology paper developed by the Project. The list of required materials like pits for disposal, color coded bins, bags, aprons, gloves, masks etc. was discussed in detail.

JICA Team invited for meeting of BMOs in Sagar district (10th May 2010)



The monthly meeting of the Block Medical Officers (BMOs) for the month of May 2010 was held at Community Health Centre, Kesli block on 10th May 2010. Dr. B.K.Mishra, Chief Medical & Health Officer, Sagar, requested JICA team to participate in the meeting. Dr. Yoichi Yamagata, Project Manager; Mr. S. Fareed Uddin, Project Operations Manager & Consultant TQM; Dr. Aboli Gore, Consultant HRM; and
Ms. Richa Som, Consultant HMIS, participated in the meeting.

The purpose of this meeting was to give an exposure to the BMOs so that they can replicate the similar initiatives in their respective CHCs and PHCs. The CMHO requested JICA to highlight the achievements made by various blocks and to show the progress of each facility through the GIS maps. The status of Maternity Wing Organisation and BMW management in each facility was plotted on the GIS maps and shown to the group. The team also discussed details on HMIS, especially the new NRHM reporting formats and MH cards, with the BMOs. There was some confusion regarding the reporting formats, which was clarified on the spot.

During the GIS presentation, BMOs of Banda and Garhakota were upset as they were the most non-performing blocks and scored the lowest in all the variables. They promised to provide best cooperation to JICA Block Coordinator and requested
Dr. Yamagata for sending the Block Coordinator on weekly basis to their facilities.

Panna

Block level orientation on Bio Medical Waste management was held in 4 blocks of Panna district on 19th and 20th May 2010. JICA Capacity Development Coordinators,
Mr. Kamlesh Mishra, Ms. Rohini and Ms. Dimple Save, facilitated the orientation.

The orientation was held at the CHC and the participants included BMO, BPM, Staff Nurses, LHVs, ANMs, Ward boy, Radiographer, lab technicians, store-keeper, dresser, DEO, ayahs and sweepers.

The orientation was done using the methodology set by the Project. The list of required materials like pits for disposal, color coded bins, bags, aprons, gloves, masks etc. was discussed and prepared by the participants and the concerned Medical Officers and BPMs have agreed to provide them at the earliest. The specification for deep burial pit was also shared with them.

Tikamgarh

Block level orientation on management of Bio Medical Waste was held in Niwari block of Tikamgarh district on 20th April 2010. The participants (32) included the entire CHC staff – BMO, BPM, Staff Nurses, LHV, ANM, Lab technician, store keeper, dresser, Ward boys, Ayahs and Sweepers.

JICA Capacity Development Coordinators, Ms. Rohini and Ms. Dimple Save, facilitated the orientation.

Orientation on NRHM reporting formats held in Panna district (5th May 2010)


The block level orientation on the new NRHM reporting formats was held in all the 5 blocks of Panna district between 5th and 12th May 2010.

Mr. B.L.Pandey, retired BEE, who facilitated the orientation in Sagar district, facilitated the orientation in Panna district also along with Mr. Kamlesh Mishra, Capacity Development Coordinator; and Mr. Maroti Lohat, Block Coordinator, JICA Project.

Orientation on NRHM reporting formats completed for Sagar and Tikamgarh districts(1st April 2010)


Sagar

The block level orientation on the new NRHM reporting formats was held in 5 blocks of Sagar district between 15th and 31st March 2010. The remaining 5 blocks were covered between 1st and 8th April 2010.

Mr. B.L.Pandey, retired BEE, has a good understanding of data elements and reporting system in the State. He was oriented on the new NRHM reporting formats by the JICA HMIS Consultant.

Mr. B.L.Pandey facilitated the orientation along with Mr. Arif Anees, JICA Block Coordinator.

The participants included ANMs, MPWm, LHVs and Male Supervisors from the field. The block staff specifically included BEE, BPM and DEO.
